VPD responds
Over the course of the last week, the message board on this site exploded with posts highlighting the problems that drug dealers have been causing in certain areas of Venice, most specifically at Grove Terrace, the beleaguered HUD housing project. The complaints were all generated by readers of the web site.

Venice Police were noting the posts. Capt. Tom McNulty, the public information officer for the department, was particularly concerned that it appeared that the VPD was not doing anything when, in fact, they have been conducting ongoing drug investigations and have already made a number of arrests. McNulty contacted Venice Florida! dot com in an attempt to let the public to know that the VPD were actually having a good amount of success in nabbing drug offenders.

This is an interesting first time experiment -- it's the first time any Venice public official has agreed to be interviewed for YouTube.
