The Jetties - The north jetty is in Nokomis and the south jetty is in Venice. Both are excellent areas for fishing, watching boats, family picnics and looking for dolphins or manatees. Another interesting inhabitant of the area is the pelican and when you see how often they catch a fish, any fisherman would be jealous. If you are a photography buff, both the beaches and the jetties are a panorama of sights. I can’t even count how many rolls of film I have used just on the gorgeous sunsets -- each one is unique and just when you think you have seen the best sunset ever -- a better one comes along. Even those with a casual interest find themselves buying the disposable cameras and enjoy trying to capture the view for friends back home. A disposable camera is also a great way for the kids to acquire an interest in this hobby.

This is a way even the little ones can learn to take pictures by themselves with no risk to expensive equipment. They can take photos of whatever interests them. That’s called freedom!
