Key paragraphs missing from Herald-Trib's online story

Two paragraphs that appeared in the print edition about Tacy's allegation that did not appear in the web version of the Herald-Tribune story. The web version is roughly about half the length of the printed version.

One key paragraph that is missing from the web version:

Tacy said he did not plan to file a complaint about a potential Sunshine Law violation "because that is not my style."

and the final paragraph in the printed article:

"They [city council] really shouldn't create even the impression of a conflict," [City Manager Marty] Black said. "That's been a consistent message from our office."

That's an odd quote coming from Marty Black, the same city manager who chose to purchase Christmas gift cards from CQG financial supporter Steve Harner. When this web site and the Herald-Tribune gave him the same advice about the Bogey's gift cards two Christmases ago, Black failed to see how any perceived conflict would be a sore point for anyone. Ditto on his failure to fire former utilities director Chris Sharek after Sharek had been caught criminally breaking into and vandalizing Myakka State Park.

Curiously, the name Tacy, when given as a first name, means silent, reserved, thoughtful, a variant of the word 'taciturn.'

Would that were only so.
