First, let me introduce myself, I am Sonny Shein. I have been selected to manage Ric's re-election campaign. Ric's re-election theme is "One More Year!" or "O-MY!" You have to admit, that is a catchy phrase? The tremendous news is Ric has been endorsed by: Dan and Jeff Boone; C.J. Fishman; Jim Clinch; Don Hay; John Simmonds and airports everywhere; Bill Willson; Bob Vedder and Bob Mudge together and on behalf of the Venice Gondolier Sun and the entire Sun Newspaper Group; Kim Hackett together with the New York Times Company and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune; George Hunt; Pam Johnson and mostly by Marty Black. The membership of Citizens for Quality Government have met and unanimously voted to support Ric. Present at that meeting along with Ric, as they always are at all meetings of the CQG, were Council members Simmonds, Noren and Moore along with former council members Jim Woods, Bill Willson, Jim Myers and former Mayors Merle Graser and Dean Calamaras. Despite the entry of John Osmulski into the race, Ric is on the record as stating that, "Despite his ethical problems, Gary Budway is a more formidable candidate than J.O. who is yesterday's kielbasi. J.O. is head-banging feral. This morning I told him to take Yoga lessons". Ric will expose Budway's "selling-out" to the greedy and corrupt boating interests that have plague Venice for decades. For proof, Ric will testify, under oath, in a court of law, that he has seen Budway standing next to boats, on a boat and even talking with other boaters. Ric's expose of Budway will take "Swift-Boating" to a new level. Next week Ric and I are meeting with the editorial board of VeniceFlorida.com. Despite its recent articles about Ric, we are certain that VeniceFlorida.com will endorse Ric if for no reason other than pity. Ric will formally announce his candidacy this coming Monday, May 12th when he mails in his ethics complaint against Mayor Ed Martin and councilwoman Sue Lang. The announcement and press conference will be held at 1 pm alongside the mail boxes on Venice Avenue next to the Venice Post Office. Please plan to attend. You can help Ric by joining his "O-MY" crusade. When you do, you will be placed on his exlusive "Ethics Alert Me-Mails" list and will receive a free copy of Ric's "Sunshine Law Primer" which he co-authored with Kim Hackett and Marty Black. That is not all, you will also receive your own "O-MY" button. Call Re-Elec-T-Ric now at: 483-3197. Ric's operators are standing by waiting for your call. (Note: Due to the tremendous out-pouring of support for Ric, your call may be delayed. Please be patient and remember to Press # 1 for English or # 2 for any other language.) And...remember...the motto of our fair city, "We are not happy until everyone is unhappy". Sonny Shein
