Considering the difficult job climate out there the city ought to be able to pick from an excellent pool of candidates, and perhaps negotiate a more advantageous (to the city) salary and benefit package. Just removing someone who may be an obstructionist should be an improvement in itself. Venice has the benefit of being an absolutely physically beautiful city with an enormous amount of amenities and good public spirited people who seem to have finally woken up and are determined to set the course for the future. What an opportunity for an intelligent creative city manager with integrity and ambition.
